Allow export resolutions other than 96 PPI for raster file formats

Issue #970 resolved
Aristeidis Skarpetis created an issue

Hi there,

Maybe I have missed something but it looks like Valentina fixes the output resolution of “Image files” like PNG to 96 PPI (DPI). If I am not mistaken, the constraint applies to both the UI and the command line. I cannot find a way to change it.

I can see that everywhere there is a “Paper format” groupbox, the “Templates:” combobox items always reference PPI within parentheses eg: “Roll 44in (96 ppi)” in the “Create a layout” dialog and “A4 (96ppi)” in the “Save Layout” dialog.

Is it currently possible to set the PPI somewhere (eg. config file or an argument to the executable) so it is picked up for the session (UI and command line)?

No, you are correct. I have hardcoded this value.

    No.

Why do you need bigger resolution?

    Hey Roman,

OK. Not possible with the current versions. Check.

The truth is that what I need to accomplish can be done fairly easily by processing the Valentina PDF through ghostscript and/or scaling the output.

I am trying to make a visual catalog of patterns so not only bigger is needed, smaller too for thumbnails. Which is why I said “other” 😉

It is up to you if you want to add a command line argument to set the PPI for the session (I think inkscape has --export-dpi argument) but I am sure there is a thousand other issues to work on so feel free to close this if you want.

    Thanks for the reply!
