Custom paper size

Good day

When I want to print my pattern and try to get it on as little paper as possible, the sometimes won’t allow me to make the page smaller. When there is clearly a lot of space to make it smaller, and when I test it just to make sure maybe the program is show there is a lot of space but it not really there, Save a Pdf and when I got to print is show all these pages that will be printing blank, but the program doesn’t see it?
